New & Emerging
The RVCC and the BCC have produced Guidance Notes for Breeders, Exhibitors and Judges for the most popular New and Emerging breeds. The agreement of such Guidance Notes by the BCC is the first step towards possible Guide Standard status, once it has been established that sufficient numbers meeting the Guidance Notes are being exhibited. NEB classes will only be open to cavies that have Guidance Notes that have been approved and accepted by the Council.
New & Emerging breeds with accepted Guidance Notes are the: Belted, Ridgeback and the Tweed. Also Pink eyed Californians with Lilac or Beige points remain a New & Emerging breed.
Others that are accepted, must be a variant of a Full or Guide Standard Non Self breed displaying a Full or Guide Standard Self, Agouti, Solid Agouti or Argente colour(s)/ticking that is/are not specifically recognised in the above list.
More details are on the British Cavy Council website.
